I have 2 version of this game,(DUMB ME) one of steam, one of GOG. I bought the DLC for the GOG version. I played it a couple of months ago and it lauched fine. When I came back to the GOG version . now it won't launch. It showed the Dying light logo and nothing happened afterwards. but the steam version ran fine. What gives? I have tried repairing the installation as well as erasing everything and redo the installation, still it won't launch. :(

Same thing. What to do?
Same here. I'd like to play it but it disappears after the logo pops up...
I tried it first through Steam link and it didn't work. It didn't occur to me that it wouldn't even work on Galaxy.

edit: actually, I just realised both systems are Windows 10, so ignoremost of this post...

Right. My PC is multiple boot. This game does not work at the moment on my Windows 10 system, but it DOES on my Windows 7.

Not sure yet what's causing this. I've tried running in Win 10 in "Windows 7 compatability" mode, but it's no good...

I investigated a bit more and found in the logs:

"{16:26:37.638} ERRR: [ERRR] > Cannot load 'rd3d11_x64_rwdi.dll'
{16:26:37.638} FATL: [EXIT] > FATAL ERROR Cannot initialize renderer"

From searching, it seems like I need to fix DirectX. but I couldn't get dxwebsetup.exe to make changes. I tried to trick it by editing the registry to show an older version of DirectX, but this didn't work.

ANYWAY, I NOW HAVE FOUND A BODGE SOLUTION. I did a manual rollback to the previous version 1.12.0 and it runs.

I had the same issue with launching the game, even after reininstalling it. It would give an error saying "The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

From what I was able to determine, it stems from a missing Windows file related to Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015. If you have a 64-bit system, make sure that you have both the x86 and x64 versions installed. Once I installed it, the game launched perfectly.
Installing the x64 version fixed the problem for me, wouldn't let me install the x86 version afterwards.

/\ helped to fix the game on Windows 10. Apparently their last patch broke the damn thing on version of C++ the game's distributed with, so rollback should help too
I have a similar problem with launching. I attempted installing Visual C++ Redistributable but it would not installing because I already have it.

How do you download a previous version of Dying Light in GOG?
