Shmacky-McNuts: A review if the game says there is DRM attached to game. Anyone else seeing this?
Hi, I apologize for the confusion. This was our first experience working with the GOG SDK, and we initially set it up incorrectly. After reviewing the feedback, we have removed that requirement, so the game does not have any DRM attached. I hope this addresses your questions :)

By the way, we attempted to add an update announcement or respond to the review when we resolved the issue (literally on the same day we discovered the review). However, we realized that we couldn’t rely on the individual who wrote it, which led to the current situation... T T

Just a friendly caveat; If you are the developer. You should request Developer status orange font. Gog does not always automatically apply this, because they have devs prefer to blend in with normal users on forum.

You may email staff or direct message a blue font moderator. I think you may find King_Kunat posts in the stickied threads or locked threads at the last post.

Also, Make sure when you post any updates, to change the Changelog for the game. It shows you care and also gives customers a relief to know what was fixed.

Thanks for your time.

Thank you for the suggestions! I’m not the developer but the publisher who assists developers in bringing their games to GOG. Honestly, both the developers and I are still learning the best ways to manage games on GOG, so your friendly insights are super helpful.

I believe that blending with regular users in the forum has its advantages, as many others do it in that way

One perk of being known, is having a higher priority set to you from staff. So if you prefer not being known, it has people ignore you. But so do staff. Food for thought.

You can also post a change log right here in the game thread and this is often just as good. Maybe a little easier too. I mention change log again because people will not buy a game if they cannot see the game has latest version.

Sadly many publishers and developers do not understand this. It creates a problem for the customer, because, customers feel the game if abandoned. The will have lower sales.

In general, better communication from any developer or publisher usually makes gog customers respect you.

Side note:
What other games do you have? If you have a list, maybe more games can come to gog.

edit;

If you want a quick way to show the drm problem is resolved. Make a review for the game on the game page and state you are the publisher. If not, no problem. But it is a quicker resolution. Plus it will be more visible. Stating it was a mistake being new to gog will let people know why it happened.

People on gog are a difficult crowd(as company reps believe), because most of us are smart enough not to allow the companies like steam to dictate what we pay for. In general, we think, if you cant own a copy. It has no value to us.

edit2;
Just looked at steam regarding the other games. As a publisher, maybe you can really impress us at gog. Get a hold of Caravaneer 2 and publish it here on gog. The developer seems to be russian and they may not be able to trade here normally. But using your publisher as an intermediary will work. Plus we get another good game :)

Hey!! I'm impressed by the thoughts and your suggestions here. I guess you're some kind of GOG professional! And I will try to use the Review to let people know we have managed to solve this problem now <3

And yeah, we do have a lot of games on our hands as a publisher, and we'll bring more games here once we have confirmation from the developer. We have like 4 or 5 games that are working on the GOG release at this moment (Dust to the End is the very first game we release here at GOG), and we have more game developers who are interested in working on a GOG release!

I'm not sure if the developer of Caravaneer 2 would be interested in maintaining another version of the game, but I would try to contact him/them ;)
Thanks for listening.

Glad to have more from your list of titles. Hope the Caravaneer guy will come to gog too.
Any word about Caravaneer 2?

Nah...I don't hear anything back from the dev of Caravaneer 2, but finger crossed that I could have some message soon in the new year <3

Happy New Year to you!

If you would like a good amount of cash flow. Go to YouTube and look up a guy named SplatterCat. Since gog staff are to lazy to court 99% of the developers this man reviews. You can email all of the game developers and port their games to gog en masse.

Many good games. Many devs, willing to add them to gog. Gog just does not court them.

3 good games that you should talk to the developer teams.

-Haydee 1 and 2
-The Killing Antidote

Youtuber Gmanlives has a video that is safe to watch, regarding The Killing Antidote. Shows a little about Haydee 2 as well.

I talk to you about these titles, as some publishers like the idea of fans gathering information for them.

Plus it is nice to make more money if dev teams join ;)
