Hello,

Hopefully you folks still monitor this forum..

In my current game I've run into odd behavior; that to me seems like a bug, but I'm not sure.

I'm at 595 days, and have 2 objectives.

1) Dock with [previously] located Aemilianus Military Outpost to obtain communication archive. (That ship has not been previously visited although the system was; and I knew where that ship was)

2) Find and access vessel "Marie Curie" to obtain final algorithm from Dr Holmes. (I have previously visited that ship - it's still "yellow" on the system map)

(I assume both ships/locations are likely random/different for every game; but having not gotten this far previously, I don't actually know if that's the case..)

IIRC, those objectives appeared after I "triagulated' 3 stargates.

The (apparent) bug is: When I travel from where I am (the location of that 3rd triangulated stargate) to either of those two locations; my P-fuel doesn't regenerate; and my J-fuel doesn't decrement. Travel to either location involves galaxy/stargate jumps, and in-galaxy system jumps.

If I travel to other places (galaxies or systems), my P-fuel DOES recharge; and my J-fuel DOES decrement. But if I do that first and then travel to those objective-locations, my P-fuel again doesn't recharge & J-fuel again doesn't decrement.

There's also some blue lines connecting certain systems. Not sure what they mean; but one of them is on the route to one of the objectives.

Also, I'm basically playing on "easy" (vents turned off; easy starting galaxy, etc).

Whoops, almost forgot ... version - I'm playing on GOG v.022 (I started this game on 1.022, and we are warned that the subsequent 1.03 patch may cause "odd" things in a current game; and thus it's better to patch before starting a new game).

TIA

Thanks - I BELIEVE this has nothing to do with the objective, so I'll skip that part and get to what I THINK you are experiencing :D

There's a free "quick-jump" when moving between two systems in the same galaxy where 1) both have stargates and 2) both stargates have been previously visited. The "blue line" between them is an indicator that you can quick-jump between those two systems. If doesn't cost you J-fuel (yay) but neither does it refill your P-Fuel.

Let me know if that answers the question. I don't think, outside of the connection lines, we mention the quick-jumps anywhere (perhaps not even in the help) and that might be something we've overlooked...

Well, I'll have to say, that sounds like it exactly. I'll restore my backup and check it closer - but pretty much that's got to be it.

I had no idea that game mechanic existed. But now that I do, I can probably take advantage of it. :)

Thanks! (And sorry for the false alarm)
