Hi, you might not read about this in other people's games faq or walkthroughs, it's not a real biggie, but if you care, here's what i discovered :-

Most of the Rings of Protection +1s +2s in CoK (might be those obtained from 'Random Magical Treasure' roll spots) are bugged, in that :-

1. They only provide AC Bonus, but internally their Saving Throw Bonus was left set to '0'. You can view/rectify this with GBC>Editor.

2. Some of their earlier ideas on the game value of such rings inconsistently implemented and you may get a Prot +1 (AC-Only) worth 10,000 Steel in CoK, while a Prot +1 (AC & Saves) found in DKK worth 5,000 Steel. Two similar bonus rings can have different values : A Prot +2 (AC-Only) obtained as Random Magical Treasure in CoK worth 2,000 Steel, while another similar Prot +2 (AC-Only) worth 15,000 Steel. This is very bad. Very incosistent.

What led me to discover this was the Ring dropped by Myrtani, right at the end of CoK. I checked the ring internally and it was a proper Prot +3 (AC & Saves), value set to 20,000.

If you have more information on this, please let us know.
Yeah, it was blood annoying how things never could be consistent in the GB games. But at least with the new editor you'll know the score.
Random Magical Treasure?

Does this mean from random battle encounters or are there fixed chests with random treasure? If it is the latter, one might want to save before opening if the spots are known.
