I love this game. But it's been close to twenty years since I managed to finish it, every other attempt has run into a game-breaking bug.

I thought I'd gotten through all the ones that normally flummoxed me, but this time I'm trying to collect the last elemental totem (the fire ruby) and I ran into a bug I've only seen once before.

I can't open the door to Sorval's chamber.

Has anyone run across this bug or how to avoid it? When I try to open the door, it says "This Door Won't Open", and I checked all the FAQs to see if there was a key I was supposed to find. There isn't.

At this point, I'm actually willing to cheat. So if anyone knows how this bug is triggered, or knows of a way to edit save files so I have his notebook in my inventory, please help!

If you're still stuck on this one like I was for a long time, I just found out that clicking the northern part of the door (Somewhat in the wall) works.
