Ive been able to play and beat DS1 with dosbox turbo for the android but I cant seem to play or install Dark Sun 2 from gog in the same manner. When I run Ravager.bat the app instantly crashes and when I run dsun.exe I get file not found but in gibberish ie." ~@le not found ahdfjdhfdk"

I was wondering if anyone had any luck, I found and ran the dos copy that is around 10mb but wanted to use the beefier gog version which I assume adds vid/voice

Thank you

I don't use Dosbox Turbo anymore on my Android tablet. Magic Dosbox is much better in every aspect, very simple to use, most games work in default mode without problems but you can configure everything yourself if you like. I tried part 1 today (works flawlessly with MT-32 soundtrack). I will try part 2 and give you feedback if it works.

edit: I just checked the dosbox_darksun2_single.conf of the GOG-version. I think you have to mount the file "game.ins" to make the game believe there is a CD (imgmount d "..\game.ins" -t iso).

edit2: I got a CD-image of the game from the depths of the internet (just google for "Dark Sun 2 iso". I own the game on CD and here on GOG so I don't see this as problematic), installed the game on PC and used the patch 1.1 to upgrade the game. I copied everything on my Android device and configured it to load from the image. That way it works perfectly.

Can you please write down this step by step?
For example how did you do patching to 1.1

That was a long time ago, not sure if I still know all the steps. But I try: You first install the game on your PC by using DOSBox, mount the CD and "install". Then you copy the created folder plus the CD image to your mobile device and configure it in Magic Dosbox.

0. create a folder on your computer, unpack DOSBox there (the portable version, that stores the data in the folder). Also put the CD-image in the same folder.
1. In the DOSBox.ini under autoexec type:

mount c . c:
imgmount d c:/darksun2.cue -t -iso (I assume it's a cue/bin as there are audio tracks - otherwise, if it's an iso, just type
darksun.iso -t -iso)

2 launch DOSBox
3 Type d:
4 type "install"
5 do the soundsetup (which should come up automatically - otherwise try "soundset", "setsound" or type "dir -p" to search for the correct file. SB Pro always is a compatible choice)
6 exit DOSBox
7 download patch 1.1 and unzip it in the folder where you've installed Dark Sun 2
8 run DOSBox
9 install the patch by executing it's exe-file
10 exit DOSBox and copy the whole installed DS2 folder from your PC to your mobile device.
11 copy the cd-image file(s) to your mobile device, preferably in the same folder.
11 Configure the game on Magic Dosbox by targeting the game's exe-file to run and the cd-image so it starts from it and uses the cd-audio music.
