I am getting exception errors running both of these mods. I have run Killah's Legends of Aranna compatibility fix and confirmed that it loads and runs original DS1 and Legends of Aranna. However, both mods throw exceptions when loading the world. They play the loading screens and selection screen just fine, but crash loading the actual game. I have repointed both shortcuts to my DS1 installation, and verified that the shortcuts are pointing to the mod's install locations.

My questions are, has anyone else successfully run these mods, or barring that, know where the exception logs are located so I can attempt to figure out what isn't set up correctly?

All I can say is that they run fine with standard DS1.
I reinstalled everything without using the Legends of Aranna upgrade and everything works fine now.

Thanks!
As previously stated, the Ultima remakes were made for base DS1 so if you run the game through the LOA executable, they'll crash.

I'd suggest renaming the executable in Killah's fix to "DSLOA.exe" and keeping your original Dungeon Siege executable so you can run both at the same time.

I think the problem is the top review on the store page - it implies that these remakes and other mods won't run without LoA, when in fact the opposite is the case.

Replying to a 5yo post, but just to clarify a few things and add something that might help:

1) originally, you did have to have the LoA expansion. There was something in the update it put into the game that Lasarus required (I remember driving 40 miles to a target that happened to still have the expansion in a discount bin about 2010!)

2) I can confirm that you can play it just fine with the LoA expansion, at least the GOG version. Just loaded it up and everything was fine.

3) I ran into a problem where everytime I got to "Entering Britannia" it hung up. Regular DS ran fine, no problem starting a game. I suspected it was because of where the DS executable was. I reinstalled DS into C:\Games\ on my drive (instead of the default folder under Programs X86) and it works fine now!
