So it works like crap on Windows 7 so you just remove it from the compatibility list? well it was there when we bought it. Dirty move GOG. Dirty move.

Well let's be somewhat fair about this. Maybe with all the problems people are having with Win7 (in particular) they thought it wise to remove it as a compatible OS in the meantime until they get it sorted. To not change it would only invite more ire because people are still buying it based off that Win7 compatibility. It's damage mitigation.

What would you rather have them do? If there are so many problems with Win7, it shouldn't have been listed as compatible in the first place. However, now it's been released to stop claiming Win7 compatibility until they can get a fix together seems like the only honest thing to do.
Well that's a way to handle future problems, but I did already buy it, so either they'll fix my case (without the silly software modes or 800x600 res. I want to play the game in FULL EXTENT) or I'm going to as them to return me the money and delete the game from my account. If I would like to cut My wrists trying to make this game run, I'd install the CD version which I own.
It's okay they remove the compatibility from the game page, but it's not okay they still don't say a single word to us here in the forums. Even a "We'll look into this! Stay tuned." would be fine, i think...
Yes, how dirty of them to not keep it up there.

They did say that they're looking into it in the release thread though

Hmm, but why is Vista still there, it's basically same than Windows 7.

Is it working properly even on XP?
Haven't bought GOG's release, but my CD version works fine on my WinXP PC with an NVIDIA GPU.

Well my CD version worked perfectly on XP. So I think it should
When I saw this I went ahead an submitted a refund request. I paid for a game that was advertised as being W7-compatible.

Ah, thanks! Didn't see it over there... ;)
Demand a refund. That's what I'm going to do.
It seems to be totally random if the game works or not. I'm in the third dungeon and didn't have a single issue, whit a i7 quad core and amd 5970 radeon.

I concur. People who are blaming GOG for this should really be blaming Bullfrog. The original 1.7 patch actually introduced a sound stutter/crash bug on some machines. I could tell when starting a new game that if the narrator's voice stuttered while saying, "Here walks the goodly Lord Antonius" that the game would eventually crash. This appears to be fixed with this version. (It was a QSound problem. I once fixed it back in The Day by downloading a new version of the QSound dll. I wish I still had that file. And no, turning off QSound in the options doesn't fix it.)

I've now played this game on three computers - a desktop running WinXP, a desktop running Windows 7, and a netbook running Windows 7, and I have yet to have any in-game problems with stuttering speech or crashes. Perhaps this is my reward for the hours and hours I spent getting this game to work in the past (needless to say, it's one of my favorite games ever).

While I feel for the people having problems, this version is much better than the 1.7 CD version in terms of compatibility, and GOG has already released an update to fix the black screens on various computers. Also, THE MAIN MENU LAGS. it always has and always will. It is not indicative of how the actual game will run for you.
