Is there something that can allow me to "zoom out" to see more of the map, similar to Pentagram for Ultima VIII? I don't mean the in-game zoom with the End key, but something to run the game at double the resolution. Everything is a bit claustrophobic and I'd prefer to see more of the map on-screen.

Indeed, there is. There is patch called "Supreme keeper" for Dungeon Keeper II on the keeper klan forums.

The version 1.7 is the gog version. The versions 1.73 and 1.8 are unoffical patched versions which should work for you too. 1.3 is some older version not working with the gog DKII installation but prefered by the keeperklan folks for better AI.

I've been trying KeeperFX recently, which allows some changes in resolution. Will Supreme Keeper work with it or are they mutually exclusive?

hmm, strange, also on the keeper klan forum there seems to be no working version. But found a version SK-patch ;)
