Dungeon keeper 1 is really slow when alot of stuff get on the screen like a big dungeon or monsters even in low quaility.

IN HQ it is laggy even when the level starts.

I have tryed changing the cycles to MAX in the cfg and it has no effect, i have tryed lower res and direct x.

Is there any way to make the game run faster?

It does still run slow if there's a lot going on, or if certain spells are being used - the fairies' wind spell is one that makes things crawl for a while. And if you have LOTS of monsters fighting each other, it slows down then too. Not a lo that can be done about it unfortunately.

Although if it's slowing down in a fight situation, what you can do is scroll away from the fight then everything speeds up again, and you can still heal and cast lightning and things on the little icon pictures at the bottom of the screen that show who's fighting who. That's what I did sometimes to get around the slowness.
