It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

My notebook is a n intel i3 with switchable graphics cards (GMA 3000 vs ATI HD6630) running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit version. DK2 fails to even load with either of the graphics cards on and compatibility set to Win 2000, safe mode or regular.

I though the whole point of this site was to make old games run on new PCs without any hassles, and that's what I paid my money for. Elsewise I could have just made a virtual win 98 and install it from my original disk :- /
I have it running on both my laptop and main gaming computer with win 7 64 with no problems. Give them some time hopefully they'll get the compat issues lined out seems to be one of those deals where it works fine for some and others it don't.

I guess you have done all of this already.

Maybe forcing the game settings before it starts will work to have graphics acceleration off to run it in software mode might work I think doing something like below by editing your registry.

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bullfrog Productions Ltd\Dungeon Keeper II\Configuration\Video" settings:

Screen Depth = 32
HighWalls = 0
if Game wont start without 3D Hardware enabled:
Screen Hardware3D = 4 (probably 5 if hanging up)

Might work...
