zookman: well when i press control +alt + c .. it takes me right out of the game
Be sure you don't have a 3rd party app like FastKeys with a shortcut set up to close what ever you have in the foreground with that shortcut key. Because under normal circumstances this shortcut should NOT close out the game.
JayNari: I know that a cheat console can be called by pressing: CTRL+ALT+C
However, i cannot get this to work.
So, my question... Is cheating disabled in this version?
And if so, how is it enabled?
If you must know, i only cheat to learn the game.
After some trial and error I found a good solution. Because what was throwing me was the game doing all sorts of things while I'm typing out the cheat because letter keys are linked to in game shortcutus.
Best practice:
1. Hit esc so you get the pause menu
2. Hit Ctrl+Alt+C (You should hear a stone door shifting sound).
3. Start typing your cheat out (You won't see it being typed anywhere so remember what you've typed. You're typing blind. And include the spaces. If you hear the stone door sound again while you're still typing the cheat in, this means cheat mode is turned off again and wat ever you're typing from that point on is not being recorded. Either the cheat you're trying is invalid, or you mistyped)
NOTE: If you're using "show me the money" to test if the cheats are working, and you already have 16000 gold in your dungeon heart and you don't have a treasure hold, you wont see anything happen. Even though you're using a cheat, the gold needs to be stored somewhere.
Extra tip: I got my cheats from an old app I used back in the day called Ceatbook Database. This can still be downloaded from the MajorGeeks website.
