I was curious about the cheat codes for this game. I've always known about cheat codes just in case I get in a tight spot. But I've looked up the ones for this game and they do not seem to work. any help?

Once you have a temple, keep in mind this to get powerful creatures:

If you get Transfer Creature in most dungeons it feels like a cheat, too. You can start the next level with your favourite Lvl10 creature, and keep beating every level with it.

Thanks, but there was one cheat that made the units free

I've been abusing this strategy like crazy... I have a level 10 Horny and all I do when I start the game is to rush the enemy base and take him out with nothing more than flies and imps in my way. That thing could destroy a small army by himself so even if I was a little late getting there it's still no real problem. Like the one mission where the heroes come at you from all 4 directions, just drop in the Reaper whenever they appear - instant victory.

Nothing against the rules, but sure feels like cheating though.

The reason the "codes" don't work is because the only cheats for Dungeon Keeper require editing the creature.txt file in the game's data folder. By editing this file, I have actually made it to where rooms are free and I get more gold. To do this, you need to scroll down to the rooms and edit the second set of numbers (Ex: scroll to ROOM_TREASURE_ROOM 2 100 200 and change 100 to 0 to make the treasure room free).

Warning: If you alter the wrong entry, you can screw up your game, so make sure to backup creature.txt before editing it.

For those that do not want to risk editing the wrong entries, I have included pictures of the creature.txt file pasted into excel so I could highlight the numbers you need to change (Also, it's easier to read when formatted as a table instead of a text document).

There's actually a cheat-menu in the game, but it has been disabled. You can use KeeperFX instead, as it has functional cheats and cheat menu's, including skipping/going back to levels, getting creatures, spawning gold, making stuff free, getting access to spells/rooms and making the map visible..
What about for MacOS users? How do you find and edit THAT config file???
There were codes to type in game, in the original version. Why the hell they did not work anymore ?
modifying the creature.txt file also impact the oponent. This is not acceptable.
