Hello, I am able to install and play this game fine by downloading the .tar.gz package and running the start.sh script (I have to install libpng12 and libcaca packages first, but that's a minor issue).

The problem I'm facing is that I can't seem to save game... when I select the option to Save Game and select a slot, it doesn't seem to have any effect. Unsurprisingly, when I try to Load Game nothing shows up as the Save Game didn't work. Can anyone help me? Does it have anything to do with setting up disks for DosBox?

I think I may know what's going on. This trips me up all the time.

You're probably not actually saving your game. When you choose a save slot and hit Enter, it may appear that it has already saved, but in fact it's prompting you for what you want to name the save (with the default set to the level name). You have to hit Enter a SECOND time at this point to confirm the save. If you just choose a slot, hit Enter once, then hit Escape, the save will not be made.

Try this, and let me know if it works. If not, I may have some other ideas, but this is the most likely issue at hand.
