On the PS1 version of this game there was a level inspired by "The Shining" and The Overlook hotel. I remember it to be a really good and kind of "scary" level. Is it available on PC?
Gates Motel?
Not officially, but there's a fan remake here.

Thats the one! To bad that there is no official version, but i´ll try the fan made one.
Thanks:)
I'm not sure how related this should be, but if there's still someone who is not aware of this, I advise you to check it out. It's a very accurate Overlook Hotel fan map for Duke Nukem 3D:

I don't remember which episode or which level it was, but one of the levels of Blood had a small hedge maze in a snow covered area and in the one of the corners was a man sitting on the ground, frozen to death, holding an axe :)

Blood was made by Monolith, not 3D Realms. And referenced pretty much every horror movie in existence.

Yeah, I think I was thinking of Blood and Shadow Warrior at the same time and got mixed up while I was typing. I was simply pointing out another game that contained a reference to the Shining because his post about the Duke level reminded me of that reference in Blood.

If you get that map to work. please let me in on the secret :) I can't get it to load worth a damn. It comes up with the 1-6, please make a selection screen, I hit 1 for single player game and then it tries to load the game, but it just resets back to the 1-6 selection again. Not sure whats wrong with it.
Umm, what do you mean 1-6 selection? The map is to be played with Duke Nukem 3D, works fine with latest EDuke32.

Um, its in the txt document that was zipped with it that upon running it, it should present a black selection screen with 1 through 6 options. 1. Single Player. Don't remember what the others were, one of them was Single player with no monsters and one of them was multiplayer. Btw, since I'm not actually blind or retarded, I know its a map for Duke3D, your pointing that out served no purpose, unless the purpose was to be insulting.

Just saying that DN3D doesn't have any 1-6 menu in its main menu so I have no clue what you're talking about.
The download contains a batch file intended to launch DN3D with the command line parameters needed to start the custom level.
Probably doesn't work because you have to run DN3D through DOSBox. The batch file is written for an old system where DN3D would just work.
You should be able to get it running by editing the dosbox.conf file. Near the bottom, you should find something like this:
[autoexec]
# Lines in this section will be run at startup.
@ECHO OFF
mount C "."
c:
cls
duke3d.exe
exit
Easiest is probably just to change "duke3d.exe" to "redrum.bat" (change it back when finished, of course).
I think you can also launch custom levels using the setup program, but I'm not sure about that.
Or you can use eDuke32 which has a level / mod selector.

Yeah, I know DN3D didn't have that menu, it only exists for the Shining level. And it isn't on the main menu, it comes up when you execute the REDRUM.bat application from the DOSbox command prompt.

thanks for the help, I'll try it out a little later on tonight and see if I can get it going

Actually, 3D Realms made Blood and sold the rights to Monolith to finish it off. 3D Realms sold the game to concentrate on making Shadow Warrior.
