I'm not sure if it's the same way with everything else, but I'll check that next. But it seems I can't seem to get the sound to work on Duke Nukem 1: Shrapnel City. I don't know if it's because I didn't get the soundtrack, or just a setting that won't listen to me.

(And I only mention the soundtrack bit, 'cause these old DOS games tend to do stuff like that.)

Anyway, I'll check the other stuff and see if it's just that particular one.

Yeah. It's in all the episodes of Duke Nukem 1. But Duke Nukem 2's sound works fine.

To clarify, you were you expecting music? The first Duke Nukem only uses the PC speaker so only has occasional music (like when you enter a level) due to the limitations of the PC speaker.

No game requires you to download the soundtrack from the bonus content for music to work in-game; the soundtrack downloads are just extra goodies so you can listen to the music outside of the game.
I wasn't expecting music. I was just expecting PC sounds, exactly. I played this game when I was real little, so I knew the sound wasn't going to be too good. It's working now, though, so it's cool. :P
