If you're looking for a great game that has deep strategy and stimulates your mind..... Well, this isn't it.
Instead, this is a game that combines the side scrolling action of Duke's roots with rendered graphics. It's the same genre as Super Mario Brothers, with guns, blood, explosions, and babes to rescue. I guess Mario was rescuing a babe too. But Duke has many babes, that being the type of guy he is. He's also got a witty quip for everything.
The visuals are quite good. Like most games on GOG, it should run on maximum detail on any recent graphics card. I think that's part of the enjoyment of buying games here: Instead of worrying about tweaking the games for your system, you can say "Crank the details up to 11!". :-)
I recommend a gamepad for this game.
This game is great fun. It's a visceral action game that doesn't take a lot of thought to play, but should bring a smile to your face if you enjoy action games. It's not politically correct, but that's Duke's character. He's like "I'm a badass and I don't care what you think about it, because I'm busy saving the city. And the chicks dig it." :-)
