OK, I know Strongblade already addressed this issue for the Mac version of the game, but, apparently, it's a known bug throughout all versions (at least Windows and Mac). According to A Jolly Corpse's reply on the Steam Dropsy forums, this happens because GOG hasn't properly upgraded to version 1.2, despite them having sent GOG the files -- and even though my copy of Dropsy on Galaxy clearly states it's running the 1.2 version.

I just bought the game because I've been wanting to play it ever since it was released, and it's a bit sad that my store of choice sells a broken version of it. It's even sadder to see that the GOG forums, which were the best out there for solving technical problems customers were having with their games, are now only relevant for the Infinity Engine games and the System Shock series. Really, really sad. I don't want to buy Dropsy on Steam in order to be able to play it, but it would certainly be nice if GOG and A Jolly Corpse/Devolver Digital sorted this out, especially considering Devolver seems to have a great relationship with GOG and I've never felt treated like a second-rate customer by Devolver any time I bought one of the games published by them over here.

I'm stuck on the crane scene no matter the save game I load, or how many times I start the game over, the same bug *always* occurs; as soon as I trap the rat under the bathtub, my mouse cursor vanishes, sound and music keep playing but my only choice is to force-close the game, since no key or key combination seems to do anything.

Please, GOG, fix this as soon as possible, I'm loving what little I played of this game and I think us point & click adventure fans deserve as much love as the more "hardcore" GOG CRPG/Strategy crowd out there.

Also, if anyone can think of a solution, please, feel free to share it by replying to this post. I'll now submit a Support ticket, even though I don't think it'll do much good.

GOG fixed a corrupt file in the Mac build of BG1 that I reported. I think it took them about a week in that case and it was actually all Mac builds of BG1. I had only reported the English version.

Nevermind, it seems Galaxy does, indeed, have the rollback feature implemented already. Going back to the 1.1 version as we speak, thanks, Zafourth!

I must be an idiot - I cannot for the life of me figure out how to rollback to 1.1 through Galaxy or GOG's website. What am I missing? Dropsy's on sale on Steam atm, so I'll support the game twice, sure, but I much prefer to stay with GOG...

In Galaxy, go to the game you wish to play, then click the 'MORE' dropdown menu, then select 'CONFIGURE' and, afterwards, set 'INSTALL UPDATES' to 'MANUALLY' (it's on automatically by default). Notice how enabling manual updates clearly states "Notify about new updates, but don't download them. Enables rollback". After doing this, you can then select the version of Dropsy you wish to rollback to (I chose 1.1).

I hope this helped! As far as I know, this is a GOG Galaxy feature, you can't rollback or download previous versions of the games via your GOG account on a browser.

Rolling back to 1.1 now due to the same issue. It seems the developer has fixed this in a post-1.3 update for the steam version some time ago, yet GOG is still on 1.2 :(

This happened for me, too. It would be awfully nice to have the most recent version, you know. Maybe step on the developers toes a bit, GOG?

I would like to support this as well. I bought the game in the last promotion and was playing it today, until I got stuck in that part. It is ok if this will take a few days, but I really would rather not install that galaxy thing.

You can request the older installer from support.
