I am not going to create a new thread just to continue the same subject that was discussed here, soooo... I am using the Pendant of Resurrection on this thread right now.

Gotta say I started Driftmoon a few days ago and couldn't put it down until I finished it. I find it very impressive how well it was made, especially when you consider it was made by just two people. As Huff said the one bad thing about this game is that there isn't more of it. And the fact that you support the game as much as you do on GOG helping in the game's forum is definitely another reason that I'll look favorably to your next game. I am honestly embarrassed now when I remember how little I paid for this one.

The art is good, the audio fits the setting nicely, the gameplay and combat are simple but not necessarily in a bad way - there are times when I want something free of complications. But two points stood out in my opinion.

The first one is the quality of the code. While that isn't obvious in a finished product, it does get apparent when your software is riddled with bugs, quirks and crashes. This game didn't display any of those things to me and barely any to others if the forum is any indication.

Crappy coding would also make modding the game a nightmare but you don't see people complaining about it either. As a programmer who sometimes have to wrestle with legacy bad code I've come to appreciate software that doesn't plain suck! :)

The second point that goes above and beyond is the writing - both dialogues and the general story. When you start the game there are a lot of mentions to facts that might apparently not concern you or loose threads but almost every one is addressed and tied up nicely before you get to the end (For example

Boogeyman's past). However two questions remain unanswered for me, possibly because they were left as hooks for a sequel. If that's not the case can you answer those?

A) Did Feagle have some backstory (other than appearing when Paul first invaded Ixal's fortress)? Her heavenly origin is implied but never confirmed. Fizz's origin is another mystery that has me hoping it'll be addressed sooner or later.
B) What happened to Ixal's wife Aeonyr? I thought I would have to fight her before him, but she simply didn't appear other than in the backstory. Could it be we'll see (and fight) her or at least hear what happened to her in a future game set in Driftmoon's universe?

All in all, thanks for such a great game and I'll be waiting for your next release.

Thanks Joppo, we really appreciate your thoughts!

As for your questions, Feagle may get some more backstory in an adventure with Robert in the past, though that is unconfirmed yet. At first in my mind Fizz was just a particularly adventurous firefly, but he quickly outgrew his original role. Fizz is a big star now, so we're eagerly waiting to see what happens next.

And Aeonyr... I actually wrote something here already, but Anne suggested I remove it. :) So I'm not saying anything more about her yet...
I am thoroughly enjoying this and it is definitely a game I would recommend to parents of children between the ages of 9 to 90 :D

I am recovering from major surgery and this game definitely has the "feel good" factor for me.

The love and dedication that went into making Driftmoon shows in the attention to detail and just how much of the world the player can interact with.

I just wish that I could find the stave of the ancient mage LOL
