This looks like an SNES RPG I had when I was a kid with the same name, or at least a very similar one, and the same basic setting.concept. But There's no way that game deserved a 4.5 star rating and the review here is basically worthless. So is this a related game, was the SNES game a horribly butchered port, or do the two games have nothing in common besides the name and being RPGs set in a world ruled by dragons?

The SNES was a slightly improved version of this game, other than a few things they are pretty much the same.

There was however a Drakkhen 2 in SNES, if that's the one you remember then they're very different games.
Well the story I remember is definitely the one for the first SNES game. But I remember it being one of the worst SNES RPGs I ever played and most of the reviews here like it. Of course I haven't payed it for more then twenty years so I guess I'll get it sometime when its on sale.

the SNES version has better music and better interface this PC version is terrible with party management in castles! but the story is better here, the japaneese version is stripped down. the "homes" have little use, this one has slightly more interraction. you do have to pay the Priests of ANAK for healing//ressurrecting. the SNES free of charge. no automap here either.
I am not sure about the story part: the PC version starts strong but then I remember the quest being VERY broken and you ending up going from castle to castle without a clear objective.
