If a publisher is too lazy to update their game version , am I allowed to just pirate the fucking thing? Because if they say: fuck you, am i allowed to say fuck you? Is this GOG version the latest version?

It's not. The support for GOG has been withdrawn shortly after release. Probably not the competition's deed, still I prefer to blame them for everything ;)

BTW Most likely the GOG version lacks all the issues related to Steam being a crap. That's something worth paying for. Don't be a freeloader.

What issues?
Steam has the up-to-date version and most likely the better pawn pool (each port has its own pool).
GOG's version is outdated and I really don't know if there's any actual pawn activity.

Performance issues. For some players the came cannot pull off more than some laughable FPS values. Regardless of PC specs or settings.
Ppl speculate as to why that happens and the most popular hypothesis is that Steam's Friends list is the perpetrator - when it contains too high number of users on it. The solution for the problem seems to be...playing offline.

Also the Steam version being compatible with a whole bunch of mods and hacks is the source of a lot of issues by itself ;)

I've never heard of the issues you mention, or encountered them myself, in the 5 years I've been playing this game. And I only got a powerful pc recently.

That's nice.
And...?
Ok so i assume, singleplayerwise, the GOG version is solid, but pawn system is gonna be hit or miss

More like, Pawn system is 50% out of order. Pawn hiring works but Rift filters and receiving items and RC rent is a hit or miss.
So is it still not patched?

The game runs perfectly fine, but yes, the servers are very hit or miss and lately i can't upload my pawn's info but i can hire other people's pawns just fine.

Thanks, that's good to know. It's not the first time a game is not updated on GOG, and I hate it when it happens. I'll buy it on Steam then.
