Hey

Used to play this on xbox and picked it up a few weeks ago on pc. Haven't had my pawn hired yet so just wanted to check if there are still any active players here and hopefully make friends and/or share pawns.
I still play once every week or so
Pawn = Eve
current level 57 Mage
Just got it yesterday, still in the beginning of the game.

enjoy and don't get lost in the forrest
p.s, Eve is happy to help if you need a mage mate

A lot of people find the beggining tedious but keep at it and you will be rewarded with really fun combat. I'll add you so we can share pawns too

I'm playing right now, but have zero interest in any of the online crap, of any single player game.
I'm playing single player in all aspects.
I play offline, and modded, I neither want to share my pawns, or use another players.

With the right mods I can keep the pawns I want, and play the game my way, not Capcom's dumb console way.
Especially annoying is the amount of times I've seen this stupid crap.
"Corrupt Save start new game", at least I can ignore that one,

e.g. with backup saves, and long term companions, not have throw away slaves, constantly forced on me.

This mod is essential in my opinion, just for the basic PC game QoL tweaks.
You choose what to use, and what not to use, in your game.

dinput8.dll hooks at Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen Nexus - Mods and community

save backups, hotkeys, ingame overlay (clock, item/stats editor, equipping/learning skills, ...), camera fixes, day length, char customization, augment mods, various cheats (ignore vocation for weapon skills and equip, town running animation, upgrading 2nd lvl skills to 3rd lvl)

Right on! You and I are in the same boat. I found dinput8.dll a few days ago too. It's really all you need for offline.

I got a crash at first when I had the Enter-Character-Editor-Anytime option turned on, but I turned it off (do i really need to enter the character editor anytime? No.) and I've had no other problems.

Pretty fun game, despite the clumsy console UI. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.

I only wish it had swimming instead of "The Brine," but oh well...
I just "put an end to all things" for the first time and started my second playthrough right away :D I guess that does count as active.

About that "haven't had my pawn hired yet": the Pawn return is busted on GoG so even though your pawn might have already been hired you just never got a notification and the counter in "History" will stay at 0. Still gifts to your pawn will show up in your storage eventually and I think your pawn will keep the acquired knowledge while away. But you probably won't ever get Rift Crystals or a Rating :(

That's pretty curious: I had already noted that Gog users get shortchanged on rental (no details on the owner of the pawn, for example) and I was beginning to wonder about the pawn rental in general, too, as I have been to level 40 before now and there never seems to have been a hint of interest in my mage / sorcerer despite it looking good, being fully maxed on core skills, rank, augments, etc (as in not simply having 2 ranks in mage and then being pointlessly switched to sorcerer). There is certainly no doubt whatsoever that Steam players get a better deal on the pawns, plus they can look each other up based on pawn information.

@UhuruNUru: I find your sentiments a little sad. Whilst I agree that Capcom can be a little pedantic and silly with their implementation of online community, it does have the potential to be fun and rewarding playing games online [ even if Gog's pawn process appears to be furked, your pawn never gets rented ( oh, err - bad choice on Capcom's side, there ), and you get trade-banned with "Server Not Available" message for using older save games ]. I also like to spice up the pawn process by changing all their equipment to bandit hoods / masks and the like, or returning them wearing fisherman tatters (how unfortunate that the characters cannot be totally nude... ).

I am glad that you mentioned dinput8.dll hooks, too, because I was just about to post a question about that; so you and UniversalWolf have saved me from doing so now that I know that dinput8.dll should work fine with the Gog version of the game. - Thanks.

@Gabi15: to answer the original post (sorry for hijacking it with pawn chatter and dinput8), I still play. I cannot remember what my current pawn's name is, but I have just started a new game. The pawn is a mage and will be switched to a sorcerer later on (once she has acquired all the ranks, core skills, and augments, as there is not much point in changing vocation before that, even if the chosen skills are all cross-vocation).
