The game first crashed at the house where the "witches of the wood" (or whatever the name is) cutscene happens. Duncan sends you to the wilds to find monster blood and lost documents part.

Reloaded from a quicksave. Then the battle with the monsters starts at base camp and you have to light the tower. When getting to the tower and start fighting the monster, second crash.

But now, the quick save is gone, and loading the autosave crashes the game to desktop

So this game is broken?

What to do?

Should I ask for a refund? I would like to play the game as it looks enjoyable but how to do it?
All saves I have crash the game to desktop :(

Anyone know how to fix this?

- disable Frame buffer effects
- limit cpu (with task manager) to two core for dragon age (with one core it will never crash but it usually lag with only one core)

if these things does not work for you request a refund because crash are game breaking bugs.
I've disabled the Frame buffer effects but didn't had any changes,

but setting the affinity to two cores did the job.

(edit:both changes should be applied I mean not only the last one)

Thank You! the save loaded correctly. Don't know why the quick save had vanished but I've had a save with only a few minutes of play lost.

Hopefully I can continue the game :)

Update.

I still get the periodic crash, even after messing with affinity - though it did seem to help a bit. I've since found that it works if I load an older save to get into the game, and then load the latest save.

Going back to older autosave (from the beginning), when our hero is naked and loading new save straight away works for me.

I can confirm that all bugs and problems with mods, etc. are gone as long with fixed loading. I installed Qwinn’s Ultimate Dragon Age: Origins Fixpack v3.4 (newest available version) from his website: https://qwinnmods.com/download/qwinns-ultimate-dragon-age-origins-fixpack-v3-4/ using DAO-Modmanager. This Ultimate Fixpack needs to be installled last, on top of all other mods. I hope that helps
