I'm currently about 20 hours into the game. For a while, the game would intermittently crash at random points. However, now when I load my current save game, it crashes on the loading screen each and every time I try to load it.

I was able to work around it by uninstalling / reinstalling the game, but this caused a new issue of textures popping in and out when it hadn't been occurring before. Once I exited the game and attempted to load my save again, it went back to crashing on the loading screen.

I've tried turning off the frame-buffer effects and setting the process affinity to use only two cores, but there's still a problem. Setting compatibility mode doesn't seem to work either.

Have you tried loading a previous save in case your current one is corrupted?

If your loading-a-save problem is the same as mine, then my solution is posted elsewhere in the forum. Since the link is crazy long, here's the text:
I still get the periodic crash, even after messing with affinity - though it did seem to help a bit. I've since found that it works if I load an older save to get into the game, and then load the latest save.
In other words, from the main menu I would load some save *other than* the latest one in order to get into the game itself. Once in the game, I would immediately load the latest save. Hope that helps with the save-loading problem.
I think I managed to resolve it. I didn't do anything special, but the problem seemed to mostly occur while I was in Denerim. However, once I got out of there and decided to move onto Haven, I haven't experienced any more crashes.
I can narrow the problem down to it having something to do with being in Denerim. When I'm in town, that's when the glitches start occurring with textures popping in & out and the game crashing. I spent a little bit of time turning in a couple of quests and as soon as I go to leave and return to the world map, the game crashes. It hasn't crashed anywhere else except for when I'm in Denerim.
You should put the "Texture Details" to medium... that's it... at least for me. I've tested it (Denerim) and I'm playing in 4k right now. I hope it works for you.

This did it for me! I was in Denerim when the graphics got weird, and then it wouldn't load my saves anymore. Had to lower textures to Medium and it worked fine.

Do you have any saves from other areas, older ones?

I load one of those and THEN load the Denerim save, and that works. Seems easier than messing with the graphics.

Yes, I did have previous saves. Those would not load either. In retrospect I think it may be because once you try to load in Denerim at all, you can't load anything again. Maybe a reboot would have allowed me to try this trick instead.

Worked for me, also running at 4K, had to turn frame buffer off also
Had the same crashes in Denerim, right after i got the 2nd dragon armor from the smith.
Thought, that would crash my saves, but reducing the graphics and texture to medium fixed the crashes !

/edit
The game now crashes while loading a savegame inside Orzammar...can't remember, this has happened under win7.
Actually running it under win10prof.
