I'm on Windows 11 24H2 with a 40 series card and this is the only method to get the game running without issues for me.

- Download and extract the contents of "dx9.games.zip" from "github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/releases" into your game folder.
- Edit "config.ini" and set "bFullScreen" to 1.
- Edit "dxwrapper.ini" and set "ForceDirect3D9On12" to 1.
- Set a framerate limit with "LimitPerFrameFPS" or by any other means. Exceeding ~725fps will prevent some textboxes from appearing.
- Right click dracula3.exe, go to "Properties" > "Compatibility" > "Change settings for all users". Now enable compatibility mode, click OK, then go back and disable it.

Make sure any other windows compatibility options are unticked and it should now run perfectly.

I tried this but my game will not launch with those 3 new files in the game's folder, before or after I change any settings in the dxwrapper config file.

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."

I'm also on Windows 11 24H2 with a 40 series card and no compatibility options are enabled. Is there anything I can try to get this to work?

I ran through the steps on a fresh install and got the same crash. Strangely, after renaming the Dracula 3 folder, it started working.

Changing the folder name seemed to work for me too, thank you!

I've added another step which should allow you to keep the installed folder name.

The GOG installer added a hidden compatibility mode flag associated with the file path to the windows registry. This causes a crash with that file path but can be removed by simply toggling compatibility mode on and off for all users.
why GOG dont make a patch?
I followed the solution on PC gaming wiki https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dracula_3:_The_Path_of_the_Dragon

1.Download WineD3D version 2.6. https://downloads.fdossena.com/Projects/WineD3D/Builds/WineD3DForWindows_2.6.zip
2.Extract d3d9.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d.dll into <path-to-game>.
3.Go to <path-to-game>.
4.Set the following compatibility settings to Dracula3.exe: compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 (for all users), disable
fullscreen optimizations and run as administrator.
5.Open config.cfg with a text editor.
6.Set the value of bFullscreen to 1.
7.Save the file and close it.
8.Start the game.

I think setting the compatibility for all users is important.

It worked for me the entire game
