Dracula Resurrection is incredibly loud for me. Unfortunately the game cannot be alt-tabbed, and ctrl+alt+del simply shuts the game down. This leaves the volume mixer inaccessible while the game is running.

I've attempted to set the volume through a command line shortcut but the game simply blocks the keystrokes. Additionally, Windows 10 does not seem to allow the changing of a program's volume level unless the program is actually open so I appear to be at a dead end here.

Has anybody successfully modified the volume of this program?

General guide how to get good sound from your pc:
100% volume out from the game.
100% volume out from the OS (eg Windows).
Adjust according to taste from your playback device.
This way you minimise the hissing and such.

Now this might not work well if you want to combine gaming with playing music from your pc too but maybe you can adjust the volume in the media player.

Thank you for the reply.

Unfortunately, I am not looking to adjust my playback device. I want to individually modify the volume of the game so I can properly balance it amongst my other programs. As it stands when Dracula 1 is running the volume drowns out every other active program.

Lowering my global volume to the point where Dracula isn't making my ears bleed renders my other programs inaudible. This is why I need to adjust it on it's own.

Yes, the good reason to adjust it. Sorry for the generic guide.
I have the game installed.... in another house (only I play) and do not feel like trying to install it here too. Is there no config file you can poke around in? May end with .ini or .cfg or something else.

Hopefully someone else can help you but I suspect this may be a very little frequented subforum.
FIXED USING DGVOODOO2

copied the DDraw.dll from the x86 folder over to the game directory and renamed it dhook.dll after renaming and disabling the dhook.dll that was already there to "--dhook.dll"

used dgvoodoo2 with the settings shown in the pictures

enabling vsync in misc settings fixed the cutscene stutter

ctrl alt del no longer crashes the game and I was able to stream in discord and adjust volume.

I hope this helps even if it's been two years :)
