Hi there-

When I could play Ultimate Doom on Windows 10, it brought back fond memories for which I am thankful!

Much to my dismay, however, any saved games are disappearing when I close the game and reopen, and/or start Windows 10. So basically, I have to start over every time. Any solution for this?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it might be a permissions issue. Where did you install the game? If it was to a Program Files folder then that's a protected folder so Windows won't like saving files there after the installation has completed. Much better to put games into an unprotected folder, such as C:\Games\.

You can try running the game as an administrator and seeing if that then allows you to see the save game files, which would confirm that it is a permissions issue.

Lastly, if you are using the standard GOG installation then that would be using DOSBox. I'd recommend getting away from DOSBox for Doom as there are many source ports available. If you want to have the original Doom experience then go with Chocolate Doom, and if you want graphic and gameplay improvements, mods, etc. then go for GZDoom. If you want multiplayer, try Zandronum.
