I'm having trouble finding info on how to get NRFTL working in a port like gzdoom. I've already downloaded the necessary add-on. Apparently the wad is named NERVE.WAD but I don't see it anywhere in the game files. The Doom Wiki's no help since it just lists ports that are compatible with it and how gzdoom will automatically detect the Steam version...

So… I guess you're using the download from the enhanced version. The file should be missing the .wad extension.

AmethystViper writes in https://www.gog.com/forum/doom_series/if_steam_gets_the_new_2019_ports_of_doom_i_and_ii_can_gog_get_it_too/post5 that the file should be in %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM 2\WADs\3\

I can't find "%USERPROFILE%". The only folder I see is one called "DOOM II_Data" which has doom2.wad under "StreamingAssets". There's also an "extras.wad" but I don't think it's what I'm looking for.
And yes, this is about the enhanced version.

EDIT: I found it. I kept thinking it was around the same file location as the shortcut :P

The default should be c:\users\<youraccount>
