So guys hello!

i've bought dd from steam some time ago, but i don't understand why and it doesn't work!!!! i've tried all kind of fixes and nothing. does the gog version got this kind of problems on windows 8?

A couple of people have reported the GOG version working where the Steam version crashed on startup, but others have had the same issue, and there isn't really much difference between them other than the method of installation.
Unfortunately, I don't know what else to suggest, that wasn't mentioned in the Steam discussion or links.

so what can i do?? i'd like to play the game but i can't

I don't know, if you've really tried everything in the links in the Steam discussion...

Do you have access to another computer you could try it on?

You could wait and try the game again the next time you upgrade, make significant changes or need to reinstall Windows.

You may be able to set up a virtual machine running XP, and play the game from there, or (if you're really determined) set up a dual boot between another instance of Windows or possibly Linux to try (I got DD running in Linux a few years ago, but with stability issues; not sure if that was a configuration issue, or the game/Wine).
