So i have a little dilemma. I can't decide where i want to keep my digital copy of D:OS. I have a lot of games on GOG and none in Larian vault for now, on the other hand patches might be update faster in Larian vault. And who knows which company will be around longer.
Please, help me decide. :S

( Don't say both unless you want to gift me an extra copy for free xD xD and Steam of out of the question. )

Larian did say that they would be focusing more on the GOG version for updates immediately after release (presumably there will be more players getting it through GOG than the Larian Vault). However, I don't know what kind of a difference that might mean wrt patches for the Larian Vault version.

FWIW, Larian wasn't pushing the Vault version in the Kickstarter email that went out earlier today (just mentioned Steam and GGO for digital version options).

I'm going to pick GOG when the game comes out. I hate having my game collection fragmented across multiple websites, 4 in total and I think that's enough as it is.
For whatever reason I had thought this game was going to be more of an action RPG. I was surprised last week when I checked into it more. I'll pick it up on GOG at some point, but likely not right away.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of comments about game patches coming to GOG slower. I haven't really checked, and I think its the case for some games. Its odd to me as I generally only patch games before starting unless I run into a bug. Do most people patch games immediately?
I will get in GOG, I have all the other Larian games here too

This is my opinion as well, however if the Linux installer, whenever it comes out, is going to be strickly Debian here, I'm going elsewhere, be it the Vault, or, le Gasp, Steam.

I've sent out emails to both Larian and GOG, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I know the Steam version will work, as I have plenty of Linux games on Steam that work fine on my non-Debian system (Arch Linux).
I have two keys coming, I figured I'd do one for Steam and the other on GOG, but I have to wait for on them fixing up the Vault so I can select the other key as GOG :)

I have 2 too and I'm in doubt what to do with the other one, if I will get a Steam version and redeem it myself (in the case some interesting mod being Workshop-only...) or not...

I have 3 digital copies of D:OS (from the KS project) and I'm getting all of them on GoG (sending redeem gifts to my Steam friends, haha).

I figure this is a way for me to support GoG and DRM free digital distribution ( I already re-buy from them every game I already own if they have it).
Speaking of D:Original Sin, anyone know when can we expect it on GOG.com? I'm itching to play it after trying it out on a friend's Steam account. I'd like to buy it here instead of Steam. Speaking of updates, I strongly believe this game might be a showcase for the new Galaxy client.

End of August, at Galaxy release, apparently.

Unless you were a KS backer in which case this should all be resolved within 24 hours. They said it would be resolved "today" however when you are talking about something global that prompts the question of "where today".

[edit] Oh, and for those wondering, I'm still waiting on a reply from Larian and GOG, however I suspect they are quite busy with the other 5k or so others with related issues.

End of August is for the Galaxy-enabled version, not the actual one

Only Kickstarter backers have access until the Galaxy release, therefore general release (the actual one) is the end of August.
Actually...no. GOG got with the program. They have that ability since they don't have their heads all the way up their asses like so many others.
