When I launch the game, i get to a black screen and a cursor, and then it crashes. On one occasion i got to the larian logo.
I have all C++ redist. versions installed (came with laptop), tried reinstallation of the game three times, and tried repairing the game files.
I have also attempted to launch in compatibility mode, and tried launching from the game shortcut instead of GOG, as well as launching from the executable itself. I think i ensured the security settings are not blocking GOG and the game itself (uncertain).

Should i reinstall the redist. files? If so, which ones? I have heard some people saying that missing some of the files could do this.... . If someone has any pointers or help to offer while I investigate that, it would be most appreciated.

UPDATE:
Reinstalled redist. packages. Still won't launch. Gets to logo, but now with sound and brief animation of the logo. Progress!
