I had the disk version of "Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga" running with my PC, so I know it worked. Somehow I managed to loose my disks and decided to use opportunity of the sale and buy it again as "Divinity 2: Developer's Cut". Unfortunately this does not run at all.

My PC runs Windows 7 64 Bit, I uninstalled the old disk version and then installed the GOG version.

When starting the game I get the two logo screens, then that icon in the lower right corner and then the game just ends. There is no option window before start.

I have tried some solutions I found here (from 2010 or so), including:
- set the whole game folder and files to full access for all users
- run game as Administrator
- check firewall settings (Kaspersky, program is set to "trustworthy" there)
- set windows compytibility mode to "Windows XP"

Does anybody have an idea, what to try next?

Do you have an Nvidia grapics card? Sometimes PhysX makes problems.
Install the newst Nvidia PhysX package.
Currently: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.14.0702-driver.html

Then go to the Nvidia Control Panel, to the PhysX Settings and choose CPU (not GPU) as PhysX processor.

That was exactly solving my problem!

Updated to the last PhysX-driver and set to CPU - game running fine now.

So something must be different between the disk version and the GOG version... oh well, but now I can play it again :)
Thank you very much!

You're welcome. Yes, maybe something is different between both versions, or you've got a newer driver version now. I'm not sure if it works with one of the older ones, but with this fix it doesn't really matter.

FYI

I have the same problem (game crash after rotation logo bottom right corner).

I have the latest version of PhysX; setting it to CPU had no effect.

(I don't intend to troubleshoot this further)
