Not everything can be anticipated when making a game and this crazy player (me) tried something and the result was just plain funny. A whole slew of orcs were chasing me - too many to ax it out with them so I was using my rather meger archery talents and keeping a distance. I decided to run into the Dwarf Bread Inn to hopefully get some help. Well, it turned out to be a good idea but not for the reasons I anticipated. The orcs were totally ignored :) . I took a position between the bar and the wall so was able to basically fight them one at a time and win. meanwhile, the waitress pushes past us, fills a beer, pushes past us again, and serves it. Darn drunks were too buzzed to even notice. Sure gave me a good and needed laugh.

Edit: came across a destroyed sword near Alorath that "looks familier". Bright blade (Seth?).

;) Soldiers should help kill the orcs (etc), but I guess regular NPCs do not have any behaviour for hostile creatures nearby.

The familiar sword near Aleroth is the one from the intro cutscene.
You can get BrightBlade by killing Seth, before arranging the escort or getting an invitation to the castle (to avoid a fight and reputation drop, cast Poison Cloud near, but not directly on him).
im playing dos ee tactical.

getting killed. frequently. par for the course.

theres a mob just outside, half rotten zombie & 2 sword skeletons, which also spawns to electro zombies, unbenounced.

i aggro them towards the gate. the legion jumped in, were quite helpful.

gates too far away from the goblin inn to try & emulate the above tactic.

although it would be fun.

Ive had soldiers jump into fights, especially at the east gate to Capt (ergh, can't remember his name; Mitik???) but it's more like me saving them. A single orc veteran took out six of them. Do they fight better in EE?

They'd likely just get slaughtered anyway. Maybe they should have offered the orcs complimentary drinks. Well, it worked at Hunters Edge several hundred years prior :) (or something like that, haven't really made a connection with the timing of the two).

I had exactly same situation. Also i am playing party of two (dual lone wolf) i was able to kill skeles but electrozombies slaughtered me twice. Third time guards were helpful. Have strange feeling that next fights are easier O.o

Also i had a poblem with archeologist dieing during escort mission. when suddenly my Ranger stopped exactly at Archeo back (so that archer who spawns behind him could only attack my ranger not Wulfram). And i did it - saved him accidentally :) My melee -rogue did the rest by using all his wits (Aero with jumping lightnings+battering ram seems to be useful on rogue).

I know some real pubs where this is normal behavior. The local crowd knows better than to interfere and the service personnel has better things to do as long as no furniture gets seriously damaged. :)
