I seem to have a problem with SupporTool.exe and launching the game. After installing the game I clicked on the shortcut and got a popup saying "Windows is searching for SupportTool.exe. To locate the file yourself click browse. I browsed till I found the .exe file to launch the game and upon launch it asked if I wanted to send my system info out to the company but I declined and then that game window closed. The game itself started to launch but I closed the game down because another window had come up saying something to the effect that SupportTool.exe was in another location and would I like to "fix" it. I think the location it said was C:\goggames\divinity-originalsin2\bin\supportTool.exe. I clicked the "fix" button and after another minute or so I got another popup saying "Connection to the larian support server failed. The larian support tool will be disabled. Unable to connect to the remote server --A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of..." I pressed "ok" to close the box and then the game launched successfully. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing.

I do seem to be able to launch the game but each time I press the shortcut it tells me it can't find SupportTool.exe and then shortly after the other popup comes up and asks if I want to "fix" the location where it eventually finds SupportTool.exe at. But it doesn't seem to save this "fix"ed location and I have to redo it each time I launch the game. It is just kind of irritating because it takes longer to get the game to launch. I also keep getting the "connection to the larian support server failed..." popup to which I also have to click off before starting the game.

Can somebody help me with a fix for these popups ? I would love to know how to not have to "fix" the location for SupportTool.exe each time I launch the game and also how to get rid of the "connection to the larian support server failed..." error message as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Create a shortcut of EoCApp.exe on the desktop and launch it from there.

The problem is there since release and never got fixed. Shows the incompetence of Larian Studios.

Go to your game root folder, in it open the bin folder.
Rename the SupportTool.exe to SupportTool.exebak or delete it
Make a copy of the EoCApp.exe in the very same folder and rename the copy to SupportTool.exe.
Problem fixed.
You have to do it after every patch though.Or until LS get their shit together
