Unskippable combat animations take too long. Is there a way to speed them up? I searched the web but found no solution.

I hate these animations too. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any ways to fix this, except if the developers themselves don't fix it in future patches. Not only are these animations unskippable, but some of them work completely wrong. I am currently making a video for my channel where there will be a small moment where I deliberately make fun of these animations by slowing down the video several times and alternating this with cuts from Crello Unlimited, which are great for this situation. Maybe the developers will see my video, and then they will make the animations even slower hahaha. When I finish editing, I will definitely share this video.

Developers always struggle with such problems

The best fix for this problem, from the user's viewpoint, is to download the current version of Baldur's Gate 3, and play through a few battles there... that will *definitely* make DOS2 battles seem faster!!
