Hi. I just started playing and was trying to buy skillbooks for my huntsman from npc Butter in fort joy. In some of skillbooks like sky shot or pin shot, it says you receive a bonus damage from intelligence. I was under the impression huntsman skills receive bonus dmg from finesse attribute. So is that a typo, bug, or as intended?

I think the tooltip shows the stat for the current weapon equipped. So if you were inspecting the book on your mage who had a wand equipped the tooltip would change to inteligence since wands are int weapons but are ranged?
Some of this stuff is not clear to me as well but that is how it works I think.
I had a similar experience with *I think* my rogue and some of her skills - they said they bonused off high strength - but I believe the last hotfix and patch fixed these to say the correct attribute (finesse).

Is your game up to date with all the patches?

EDIT: If memory serves, I believe it was the "Throwing Daggers" skill your rogue gets right off the bat. Not 100% though ... if you have a rogue check that skill and any others (if you don't have the skills to check, go to the Rogue vendor and check the skill books ... if any say they scale off any stat other than Finesse, you are not up to date).

Thanks for the reply guys. I am at work right now so I can't check right now, but I think my game is up-to-date. I am pretty sure I checked the option to always keep the game up-to-date on my galaxy. So is it probably a glitch on my end? My huntsman is lvl 3 right now and I put most of attributes points in finesse. I know the game is challenging and I love that part, so I need to make sure I make the right characters. If it is not a glitch I need to remake game and make sure to put points in attributes where the skillbooks says the skills get extra dmg from or if it is a glitch I would play as it is. If it is a glitch, for future reference I should use common sense right? I mean warfare scales off strength and scoundrel skills scales off finesse etc etc

Ok, I was just playing and this is weird.

I restarted yesterday, after getting a lot of skills the first play.

I remember my rogue having "Throwing Daggers" and the skill saying it scaled with STR (before a few patches/hotfixes). Then after I updated my game I remember seeing it changed to "finesse" as it seems a rogue skill should be.

I remember this clearly (except for the skill - it may have been another, but still should be finesse) because after the patches I didn't know what they changed and on a level up took a point in STR for my rogue ... then to my dismay seeing that the skill description no longer said STR, but finesse. Easy to remember when you hadn't saved in awhile and just wasted an attribute point.

BUT, I just updated to the newest patch, and it says STR again for a couple rogue skills, even the best one - I forget the name right now - the one you start with that jumps you right behind the enemy for 1ap. I know FOR SURE that used to scale with finesse (in the description).

So, I don't know if the new patch reverted the previous fix, or if Larian means for it to be this way so you can't make super-powerful characters (with 2 attribute points every level to spend).

The short answer is I have no idea whats going on now - but it is disappointing.
