So the multiplayer isn't working, I spend a few days trying to fix it myself, then I ask on here for help and get no helpful replies, then I ask for help from support late on Thursday and they send me a single message early Friday telling me to install the game on Galaxy and update it even though it has been on Galaxy the whole time and auto updated. They didn't ask for any information or anything like that like a competent support team would so they could get the information needed to help, they just tell you something then go dark. That was two days ago and they haven't responded to my replies I made Friday. They won't even give me a refund because this site does it manually instead of automatically, forcing everyone to suffer the poor experience of their support.

I'm angry. I'm afraid to put any time into the game so that they could refuse my refund request if they ever bother to respond, so I can't even play singleplayer. I want to get a refund and buy a working copy on Steam (like I'll be doing for every game from now on instead of supporting this site), but GOG is such a horrible site now that I can't even do that. Anyone know what I can do to get a refund?
Reply back to support that the game was installed through Galaxy and is fully updated, then request a refund. Support will probably try to run you through some additional trouble-shooting steps or request that you contact Larian's support (don't do this, their support is pretty much non-existent), so you may need to be firm and tell them that you aren't interested in spending a week going back and forth with support, and insist on a refund.

Be aware, though, that GOG usually only offers store credit for games that you've already downloaded.
How dare this horrible support be at home with their families on a weekend instead of tending to the urgent needs of their customers when one feature of a game is not working right! I'll go and write a 3000 words facebook post about that right this instant!

Are you aware that the Steam copies and GOG copies of the game are identical? No difference. My GOG copy of the game works flawlessly, and is not broken at all--as is true for the great majority of people playing. You might wish to think about that.

Are you aware as well that you can take part in the Steam Game forums and ask questions there, too, even if you did not buy from Steam? You can go direct to Larian and ask questions there, as well, and generally expect to see them answered. GOG is not the game developer--just as Steam is not the Game developer (for all games other than Valve games, like HL1/2, etc.) You are apt to get much better info from the Larian game forums, so that is where you need to be.

The difference between the Steam copies and the GOG copies is that GOG gives you an installable copy of the games you buy whereas Steam does not, and GOG allows you total install control as to where in your system you can install the game--Steam does not. (Some Steam games allow the player to move the game folder from one drive to the next--some do not, as I discovered recently!) I'm actually the opposite of you in that respect--I'm trying to move most of my Steam games to my GOG library, mainly for that reason. There are some games that are still tied to Steam, however, so I'll have to be patient...;)

I do not know why some people assume that if *they* are having trouble that means "the game is broke"...;) No it doesn't...;) Here you go...
