Yesterday everything was fine, I just got to Act 2 and stopped playing. Today I start up the game, lose a fight, try to reload my savefile and suddenly the game crashes. It's always the same, I can play the game without issues but whenever I decide to load a save the game crashes.
I can't finish the game under these circumstances, it's beyond infuriating.

Anybody else experiencing similar issues?

Are you playing with an old version? There used to be a memory leak that caused the game to crash once you progressed too much.

NuffCatnip: try to reload my savefile and suddenly the game crashes.
If you are using the most recent game update (3.0.143.324), please email supportdos2@larian.com, with a description and your latest save (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc).
Each save is a folder in the '..\Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2\PlayerProfiles\<ProfileName>\Savegames\Story' folder. In Windows Explorer you can zip file(s) and folder(s) by right clicking on it/them and selecting 'Send To | Compressed (zipped) Folder'.
