Hello. I would like to buy the final/complete version of Divinity Original Sin 2 (with all in-game content like DLC), but the version "names" for each one is confusing. Can anyone help me please? The three versions I see are "Difinitive, Divine, and Eternal." Some also show that they have special versions of THAT version. *face palm*

I don't want to buy a game then find out after I finished it that I missed out on DLC in a different version because I bought the wrong one, when I can just buy a "complete" version. I also don't care about what DLC someone thinks is good or bad, I just want to buy the complete game.

Any help you guys can give, any guidance, will be much appreciated! Thank you to anyone who has the answer.

The Definitive Edition is the updated re-release of the game. The Windows version also includes the original release, now called Classic (unless you want the extra achievements, or to try a mod or standalone campaign that wasn't updated for the Definitive Edition, there is not much reason to play the original release).

The Divine Edition is the Definitive Edition of the game, plus the 'Divine Ascension' DLC content (soundtrack, a pdf map, art and lore books).

The Eternal Edition is a package consisting of the D:OS 2 Divine Edition, D:OS Enhanced Edition (not Classic) with its Collector's Edition extra content (soundtrack, design documents, art pack) and the earlier three games Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity and Divinity 2 Developer's Cut.

The Sir Lora DLC is not included with the game or in the Divine or Eternal editions (only being added with the Definitive Edition release).
As detailed above, the Divine Ascension DLC upgrades the standard game to the Divine Edition, and does not contain any in-game content.

Ok, so if I want the latest edition with the most DLC's, Eternal is the way to go? These names are confusing, each one of them sounds like the ultimate edition.

If you want the earlier games, as well, then yes. If you just want D:OS 2, then the Divine Edition.
Hey!
but can we upgrade from the divine edition to the eternal edition? Cause I want to buy the divine one and then upgrade later, but, I won't buy an edition that I will not be able to upgrade later

mialhet: but can we upgrade from the divine edition to the eternal edition?
The Eternal Edition is a collection of games that includes the Divine Edition of D:OS 2, as well as D:OS EE (not the original release, though) and the earlier 3 games in the series.
If you already have D:OS 2 Divine Edition, the rest of the package could be gotten with the D:OS EE Collector's Edition (though that is a 2-pack for D:OS, so would cost a little more). If you want D:OS Classic, this would be the better option.

When buying the Eternal Edition bundle, you would not get another copy of any games that you already own, and there are no upgrade options to complete the bundle contents based on what you already own.

Okay, thanks a lot, Master

Just bought Eternal Edition and I don't have goddies included in D:OS1 Collector's Edition, and D:OS2 appears in my library as Definitive Edition (without some goodies as well), not as Divine. Your post mislead me :(

It is normal that the name is listed as D:OS 2 Definitive Edition in the library.
The extras should be listed in the library entry for the respective game (and note that some of the listed extras are from Divinity 2 Developer's Cut), or in Galaxy select the game in the left column, select More and then 'Backups & goodies'.

If you can not find them, what exactly are you missing?

Ok so just to clarify - there is a lot of unclear information on the product page in gog store. It looks like everything is included in Eternal Edition but it's not that obvious when you look on the details:

- Divinity: Original Sin 2 appears in your library as Definitive Edition, not as Divine, yet it have all things included in Divine edition
- Divinity: Original Sin - similar to D:OS2 - appears as standard Enhanced Edition but with some bonuses listed in Collector's Edition (not all), and here biggest missinformation starts. Collector's Edition should include (for example) 2 novelas and official strategy guide. It turns out that those novelas are included in previous Divinity games (Beyond Divinity and Divine Divinity), and Official Strategy Guide IS NOT for D:OS EE but for older game, Beyond Divinity which is very misleading. This was also mentioned in different topic:

https://www.gog.com/forum/divinity_series/divinity_original_sin_collector_edition_missing_strategy_guide_and_novellas

So to sum up - you are right that Eternal Edition includes everything possible for all included games but bonuses are scattered around older versions, yet biggest dissapointment is that Official Guide is not for D:OS EE as description of product is clearly saying, but for one of older games included in package.

All those things made me think that package is incomplete :)

This is very confusing. I would really like to buy the game but I don't know which version I want since I can't understand the differences. Also, I haven't played any of these games yet so it's even more confusing since I don't know anything about them.

I apparently own this game:
"Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition Collector's Edition"
Which includes:
* Beyond Divinity (including lots of extras)
* Divine Divinity (including lots of extras)
* Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition (including lots of extras)

And I also have this:
* Divinity 2: Developer's Cut (including lots of extras)

I don't want to accidentally buy something that includes lots of stuff I already payed for. Which version do I buy? :o

It looks like "Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Eternal Edition" includes all of the above, but I don't know if the extras are the same? Do I own everything in the Eternal Edition except the actual "Divinity: Original Sin 2" game?

The game is the Definitive Edition; the Divine Edition is a package of the game and the DLC content. There is no difference with the game itself.

Yes, the description of the package mentions both the games and extras it contains, including some of the extras from the previous games.

Where does it say that? Other than the list of contents on the D:OS EE CE page the guide isn't mentioned, and it is not shown in the D:OS 2 Eternal Edition graphic or description.

What i meant by that is strategy guide is listed in version comparison (standard vs collecors) and i wouldn't guess its not for this specific game but for one of the games included in CE :) Anyway, all things are there as you mentioned earlier so we are good :) thank you very much for clarifying!
high rated
Most retarded game naming ever seen. I've read the entire thread and I am none the wiser.

I took the Eternal Edition and I cannot find a part of the D: OS EE Collectors Edition collection as the official strategy guide.
Is this normal or am I looking in the wrong place
