Redoran82: Will this one also have Couch/splitscreen coop?
That is not planned at this time.

EDIT: actually, yes it is. A tweet stated it was "not planned at the moment", but was apparently just referring to the alpha/beta.

Are you planning to adding it in the future? I bought this game to play with my sister like in the previous game :(

Was really looking forward to play with my wife. It is a great feature.
Please reconsider.
It wouldn't hurt to ask again after controller support is implemented, but right now it is not planned.
According to the Kickstarter page it will be implemented with controller support.

"Two very different user interfaces will be supported - one for mouse & keyboard and another for controllers. If you play with controllers, you'll be able to use the same split-screen feature introduced in Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition. "

So I guess it will eventually come with the final release or a bit later. :)
The problem most GOG users have I guess is too much games were planned to add multiplayer (or certain kind of implementation) and never did, especially when Steam version go it, and not GOG version. (and too much times advertised on gog as "same features" before a more or less honest redacting)

Too much cases and still growing. I would hope for local coop split screen as for the first one, and the fact that GOG participated for a character creation make me guess for DOS2 gog users wont be let as second zone people, but reading this right above doesn't ecourage me... (I bought the first DOS only for this amazing split local coop feature)

I want to participate to the dev effort buying the EA of this, I really do (so much time it was in my cart, yesterday again...), but I would feel so sad if at the end (even late, I'm patient), there wont be any local coop at all...

The GOG version already has multiplayer, and already has Galaxy support for a multiplayer lobby. It has LAN and Direct Connection, as well.

What are you talking about?
Split screen co-op is not a Steamworks feature, and has absolutely nothing to do with features that Steam offers that GOG does not. It has absolutely nothing to do with differences in procedures, either, like Steam giving developers direct control over updates while GOG does not, so updates on GOG may take slightly longer to show up.
I'm sorry if I wasn't clear enough, both of your quotes are from a more "general" statement all over games on GOG than specificaly pointed at your game. I'm just trying to point out some of the reserves GOG users are starting to have since more and more games are advertising on GOG features that never came (and never will based on sometimes dev's words themselves)

I know that a split screen mode has nothing to do with the Steamworkshop, but several other games' missing features on GOG neither (Guacamelee Super Turbo 4 local players update by example). It's just like some devs wanna make GOG users have a slithly lower version on their game just because it's DRM free. Mainly by just stopping any kind of updating on gog while it's still going on steam (and I'm not sure 6 month is a normal gog update implementation lenght).

So... sorry if my words were not clear enough to be well understood, and also if I wasn't obviously enough speaking about the very specific local coop / split screen feature. (as the title of the topic)

Spllt screen co-op will be added after controller support is added, which will be after the full release of the game.

An @LarianStudios tweet stating it was 'not planned at the moment' made it sound like it was no longer planned, rather than not planned for the alpha/beta, but that is not the case.
That's reassuring, despite the fact that both will be added only after the full release.

Thanks for the update !
That's great news!
Thank you!
Great news!!!!!!
I think that cannot resist the waiting.
