Can i just download and install it as other gog games and play it offline? This new launcher you are talking about, will install automatically and stop the game working?

Sometimes I like to play games when I may NOT have internet. Is quite annoying when games don't want to start if they don't go to internet at least one time or something.
No DRM. There is a Larian launcher but it can be disabled on first launch. This does disable achievements.

thank you. I don't care about achievements but this may be infuriating for people that like to have those badges.

but what do you mean by first launch. did i need to go online once and then disable or I can play it directly offline?

what if I don't have internet that one time because the ISP broke or something, the game is not installed and I want to get the files from my archive, install the game and be able to play?

it may be stupid but it happen to me a few times with other platforms. Wanted to play Assasing Creed. Was installed. had no internet. Nope, origin didn't talk with their master server for two months and now I can't play offline anymore because the client doesn't want to open. That is the behavior i want to avoid.

Imagine these launchers asking for one time going to internet. "Is just one time dude, what is the matter?" The matter is that the internet is down, world war 3 happen and the internet is destroyed and i want to play the damn game in my bunker. that is the matter

but, seriously larian, why you did this? or go full drm to protect your game for some hackers or something or leave me alone to play the game offline without messing my experience.

creating an account at larian. what is the point, if I want to create an account I will do it. if you force me with no benefit to me you just make me not want to create an account there.

sure way to create a toxic community if half of the users didn't wanted to be there.
AFAIK, you don't need Internet at all to play single player. The game has this goofy launcher that bundles all the Larian games (D:OS, D:OS2, BG3) and probably has some other benefits if you actually create a Larian account and sign in to it. I never created the account, though, so I have no idea what that looks like. You can play all the Larian games without one.

When you first try to launch D:OS2, the Larian launcher comes up instead, and then you can launch D:OS2 from that.

I think what RaztheDestroyer is saying is that you can disable the launcher so that when you click the DOS2 shortcut, the game just straight launches. I never bothered to do that because it's not that annoying.

Best I can tell, the Larian Launcher has nothing to do with DRM, unlike Origin or Steam. You should have no trouble playing this without any Internet.
