There are probably a ton of people downloading at the same time.I am at 2.5~3MB/s right now on GOG Galaxy.
Never gonna purchase any game on GOG again. Its downloading 150kbs. Meanwhile its already cracked version on torrents, downloading at full speed.
average 13MB/s, got game in less than half an hour, yesterday betwen 18:00-19:00GMT

My 150Megabit = 18 MB/s (8 bits to 1 byte) connection is consistantly getting full speed downloads.
Using DownThemAll Firefox extension
When each file starts I get an initial surge that will then drop down into the 100's KB/s range.
After around 30 seconds this starts to climb unti It maxes out at my top speed.

So if you're not maxing out your connection, you have more bandwidth than me, and I get more than most.
Or you're relying on your browser, and need a download manager to make multiple connections at once.

It's DRM free, no need to crack it, they just had a better download manager than you.
Probably better internet
Torrents "faster" because you connect to many parts at once, exactly what a download manager will do for you.
if you're getting crappy speeds it's your fault for not using the right download tool.
Use a download manager, not just the browser.

Upgraded from the Early Acess yesterday with 16-17 MB/s without any problem. As I see it is around the maximum of the GoG servers since I have 1 Gbit net.

Sphongle: check your network to other servers. Or it is a GoG problem with too many downloading ^^
I downloaded the release version yesterday at night (approx 18 hours ago) and i had no problems getting full speed: about 25mb/s almost all the time.
