Can you only loot after killing? I tried to loot after knocking unconscious some guards and there is no looting option.

Yes, you can loot unconscious bodies, it's just that there isn't always something to loot and if you pick up an unconscious body you loot them authomatically. So if you knocked someone unconscious and moved them to a hiding place you probably already looted them without noticing.

Seems like sometimes I am offered the option to pickpocket an NPC, then when they're knocked out the option to loot them isn't always there.
