My game takes 2 minutes and 32 seconds to get to the main menu. The grey ZA/UM screen goes by and then I get the loading circle in the bottom left. After that's gone I get stuck on a screen (attached image). At roughly 1 minute the main menu music kicks in. Then it's just that for the next minute and a half 'til the main menu loads. The game didn't always use to do this. When I first got it it booted up in seconds. I've tried several different drivers, different settings, initializing the settings, no dice. Anyone got any ideas what might be causing this issue?

Specs:
Ryzen 5 1600
GTX 1080
16GB Ram
installed on an ssd

Bumping with a video showing exactly what's happening. Submitted a bug report a couple weeks ago through the google docs thing ZA/UM have set up, but haven't gotten anything back, not even a confirmation that they will look into it.

Don't know why I can't post links. This is where the video is though.

Okay so I just booted the game up cold from Galaxy, and it took about 30ish to 35 seconds to boot from my SSD. I will say that the only difference between you and I aside from a couple hardware iterations is you have an Nvidia card with overlay enabled, and I have an AMD card with overlay disabled.

Please go into your Nvidia overlay and disable it, restart your system, and fire the game up. Your problem should be solved. It's been a while, but to turn off the overlay I think you have to hit the little gear icon on the main screen to take you to options.

Please let me know if this fixes it. If not, I have some other ideas.
Disabled the overlay, rebooted, and launched the game and it still takes just as long.
My other suggestions are verifying the installation in Galaxy and trimming your SSD in Disk Defrag.
I've tried those before and no dice.

Only thing I feel I haven't tried yet is doing a fresh windows install after reformatting. I'd rather not have to do that, but I'll try it out on an empty drive. If it works I guess I can put up with the pain of starting fresh.

Seems like a lot of hassle to get the game to boot up faster. I'm out of ideas, though, sorry. The only other suggestion I have is uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, rebooting, launching, but I'm sure you tried that already.

I wish I had better advice, sorry.
I'm getting the exact same thing I'm going to try it with a -nointro argument. It takes mine about 5 minutes to get to the menu. It never did thid before.
What's troubling is the game ran really good before this rash of updates.

A little update on my side. Doing a windows reformat seemed to help. Game booted up in less than 20 seconds. After an update the game went back to taking minutes. This time I just used Display Driver Uninstaller and reinstalled the latest NVidia drivers and it's back to normal. Not sure why that didn't work BEFORE the reformat, but hey it seems to work now.

What's kinda weird is that I swear I told GOG Galaxy to not automatically update the game, but it did anyway.

Glad it's fixed. :) It's such a good game, I keep meaning to get back to it but football season is live so... yeah.
I have same problem here. Sometimes it takes just fricking forever before game actually launch. What did you break with last update, guys? All working perfectly before.
Same here. It takes about 2 minutes to get to the menu. It takes unusually long time to get out of Whirling in Rags. I don't remember vanilla version doing that. What's more interesting I used to have a much older and weaker PC when I was playing vanilla. Now it's M2 SSD, Ryzen 3600, RTX 2070S. I mean what is the actual problem here? It's not like it's Cyberpunk 2077 or something, which takes mere 10 seconds to load.
