I'm at the end of the first day, well after 22.00 when Kim suggests to call it a day(it's 2.12 in my latest save file); my hostel room is still accessible since I paid for the damage well before 21.00, however when I interact with the bed I don't have the option to go to sleep, end the day or whatever, as you can see in the image I attached.

It also looks like the clock has stopped and won't advance past 2.12, despite having several conversations at that time, making it impossible for me to advance in any way. I tried reloading to an earlier save(slightly before 21.00) and the clock seemed to be working again(I wonder if my other save got corrupted) but the bed still doesn't seem to work after 21.00.

I reported these problems to the devs, but I wonder if anyone has had similar issues or has found any workarounds.

EDIT: the trick seems to have that debriefing with Kim before trying to go to bed; it looks like to able to do that you might have to complete some tasks related to him first, like "Pissing competition", and maybe others.

You appear to have Kim still with you. Have you had a chat with him on the balcony yet:? He should have suggested this, it's possibly also in your task list ("debrief from Kim"). You should be fine after that.

I have that task, but if I try going to the balcony(still at 2:12) with him he has nothing to say about that; I assumed that I needed to call it a day first(which I'm unable to do now) , and then I would be able to speak with him about that on the balcony.

I might try having Kim carry away the body(I am currently looking for a fridge to avoid that) and see if that helps, but it wouldn't really be a solution because It's not what I'd do story-wise.

Sounds like a bug then - you definitely don't need to get him to remove the body. I'm guessing that it might only be possible to "call it a day" between certain hours, and the clock is supposed to "stop" at 0200, so now that the clock has gone past that (most likely because you were in a conversation puzzle just before 0200, then the time in the puzzle moved it past 0200) - it's gotten all confused.

Perhaps... When I find the time I'll try reloading a save between 21:00 and 22:00 and go immediately to the Whirling in rags when Kim suggests to stop for the day and see if something changes. Other than that I guess I can only try starting a new game, hope that the devs contact me with a solution, or try taking a look at my save files and see if I can spot something obviously wrong(there are a few json files that seem easily readable).
I found a solution! Apparently I needed to complete the "pissing competition" task first(I had completely forgotten about it); once I did that and went back to the hostel(always at 2:12) I found the door to my room closed, and clicking on it triggered the briefing with Kim.

It appears it wasn't a bug after all, but a very obscure design choice. I hope they make it clearer in the future, I even reported it as a bug.

I have the same problem. Clock has stopped at 2:00, can't go to bed. Body is still hanging, "pissing competition" quest is done. I don't know what's stopping me from going to sleep.

Might it be that the body is still hanging and Kim refuses to do the debriefing until it's taken down? Not sure, honestly.
I have a related problem:
On the second day I didn't plan to pay the manager for the room as I am a Hobocop but Kim didn't said that he wanted to go to sleep after 9 pm - he was with me until I paid at the Whirling in Rags and selected the bed.
Do I need to have another sleeping place and select it before Kim is leaving me or is he triggered in any other way?

Mind that I thought I could sleep at the bench, the coal room or another room in the huge building in Martinaise - but i didn't had the chance yet to try it.

Kim asks to stop at 22:00 only on day 1, after that he'll follow you without complaining until you go to bed. I wasn't a hobocop so I probably missed some sleeping spots, but regarding the two spots I know of(the Whirling in Rags and another you can unlock on day 3), you either enter the room and Kim automatically goes to his room after saying goodbye(this is what should have happened if you paid the rent in time on day 2), or you click on the door to your place and you'll get a short dialogue where you need to confirm that you're going to sleep and say goodbye to the lieutenant.

Kim should indirectly prevent you from sleeping only on day 1 because you need to do the debriefing first.
Thanks for your answer. That helps!

It is missleading that the game told me that Kim goes to bed after 9pm. I thought he'll say something like "I leave now" wherever I am when it's the right time. I have to feedback that to the devs.
