Hi.
Does anyone know who owns the rights to Disciples series?
Akella, .dat (Disciples III: Renaissance & Resurrection producer and publisher), bitComposer Games (Disciples III: Reincarnation publisher), Kalypso Media (Disciples III Ren... + Res.. Steam publisher) or maybe Strategy First (First and Second part of series developer and publisher)?
As far as I know, SF still owns rights to first two games and Kalypso has the rights to D3 and any possible future entries, but my "source" is a post on Steam forums, so take it with a bag of salt. However, given what happened to D3, I would say the best solution would be to leave the series dead and not drag its corpse around any more.
No public announce. Last IP\TM owner of Disciples series (all PC games, 1 browser online game, novel series, cancelled android mobile game) - Akella.
.dat and hex studio's - Akella own developers.

Kalypso say that they own Disciples. But i know this from russian fan-site, from admin sent e-mail to Kalypso (as he say). Probably they both dont understand each other. One of them ask about franchise, other answer about part of.

Right now, my best bet is a Medieval 2 mod set in the Disciples universe. The roster would be expanded to include the Barbarians, Greenskins, and a few of the side races that never got a full faction expansion. It's really slow going though, and it's just one guy working on it, I believe.
