I'm encountering a small problem everytime I launch Disciples II. I get a window called SmartHeap Library with the error message "MEM_BAD_POINTER". If I click OK the game seems to run fine, so it's more of an annoyance than a show stopper. The same window appears twice after quitting the game.
Anyone else encounter this, or have a solution to it?
I'm running it on XP SP3.
Thanks!

I' m experiencing this as well (just the last two error messages on quit). However, it doesn't seem to effect the performance of the software.

Might this help?

I am experiencing the same problems with Disciples Gold but the Microsoft solution is no help. Both of the items they recommend to uncheck I already have unchecked and I have updated to SP3 as well. As mentioned before it does not seem to affect the game itself but obviously something is not right there.
This problem has affected the Steam version too for well over a year. I think at this stage it's just normal behaviour for the game. For the record I've had happen on XP regardless of service pack.
Other than that problem, the game does appear to function perfectly fine so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Unfortunately I can't help
I'm getting an error too with D2 Gold and XP; luckily, in my case, it only shows when i close the game, and never during startup, so it only a minor annoyance
I am having the same problem as Antaniserse. Only one error when I close the game. Not a big problem to me.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V5535 (Celeron 540, 4 GB memory, WD 320 GB, SiS Mirage 3 with 256 MB shared memory and Windows XP SP3).
I tried this also with my Windows 7 desktop and with my friends desktop (Windows XP SP3) and I did not get this error message.
