I just brushed this off for a replay, and I noticed that the logo/exit button for the Pen-Ultimate is the same as the arrangement (albeit tilted) of the plates to activate Attila.

I can't imagine this was intended as an actual clue or hint, since the solution should've been super-easy for even the most spatially-challenged player!
