I'm having a really hard time getting DBTS to work. I've installed DBTS Extender 1.5, but I get this "application error" every time I try to run the game.

I don't know what's going on, but I'd like a solution. Many thanks to whoever can help me.

Did you install the Requirements mentioned in the readme.txt of Xtended?

If not, try to install those:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)
- .Net Framework 4.0
- DirectX Web-Updater
I've got all three of those, minus the directX web installer. The computer I use to play DBTS doesn't have internet. I do have DirectX 9.0c though.

There are many versions of DirectX 9.0c . Microsoft releases new versions of it every few months to keep it up to date with the gaming industry. Get the Directx June 2010 Update (download at another PC if you don't have internet on yours). I guess that might be the problem.
I'm having same problem, with all the 3 required items installed (june 2010 dx9c as well) on my Windows 7 x64.I tryed installing and reinstalling this game forever. xwindie.exe application error, application was unable to start propertly 0xc0000142. Click OK to close application. Mods/Options/Comunity Board work.

i've got the same issue on windows 7 x64. have you got any solution yet?
only xlauncher.exe, otherwise I have huge graphic glitches, no solution yet
I am getting a crash just after I jumped over the pool of lava in the tutorial. It's been happening twice so I guess it qualifies as a repeated error...

I'm crashing too right after jumping over the pool of lava.

Edit: I'm using Xtended and updated all the things it asked me to install, but I'm still crashing at the lava part in the tutorial. However, I played some multiplayer and it works fine. Attached is the screenshot of the error I'm getting after passing the lava in the tutorial.

Edit 2: It also seems to happen when I'm just playing in the arena saying xwindie has stopped working without a popup like it does in the tutorial.

Thanks for the screenshot. It helped very much to pin the error down. There seems to be a malformed model file in some versions of the game. (Not all obviously, because it doesn't happen here.) My function that loads the file is unable to process the malformed input and tries to perform an invalid operation, which leads to the crash. I've fixed the function to handle wrong inputs better now.
The fix will be in the next version of Xtended, but i have no clue when this will be released. Also got to fix the invisible health bar bug.

i had exactly the same problem. i know this sounds silly, but uninstalling Adobe Acrobat (v. 9 Professional) fixed it on my machine. it seems there is an incompatibility with a DLL from Acrobat.
