Hello,

I just bought this amazing classic and tried the classic version of Diablo.

To my disappointment I am not able to alt+tab out or use the W-Key to go to desktop.
Though wanted to reduce mixer volume from Windows (yes I know you can reduce the volume ingame more or less) and also see the game in a window, ratehr than full screen too.

Anyone leads?

Cheers
Yep i want to play classic mainly due for the battlenet support, but in windowed mode meantime doing something else.
The game doesn't support window mode by default. However Ctrl+Alt+Tab does still work. So you can use that to tab out of the game when needed.

Cheers thanks for the pointer. Did not consider that key combination.

@Clownsanity
Yeah also want to make use of the battlenet :3
So how can I make Windowed mode happen? wasn't there a command line i add in in properties or something?

I don't think you can windowed mode with the classic version, but alt-tab still works.

DX version and other ddraw wrappers would allow you to window it.

Heya,

alt+tab works on the new version ,but not the classic version for me.
Did you change any diablo exe settings (properties like compatibility etc?)
Cheers

Strange. No I did not add any compat mode or admin rights for classic version.

As a last resort maybe you need to uninstall and reinstall it.

Sadly Ddraw wrappers screw up battlenet completely.

Tbh I'd just like a default-resolution windowed mode for classic so you can stream and record gameplay from it.

yes ddraw wrappers and bnet just don't go together it seems, it's the old bnet UI. and there's no commandline switch for windowed mode either.

perhaps DXwnd would help these with alt-tab issues.
Запускается в окне, проблем пока не нашел.

Uhm don't understand RU, but thanks :3

DXWnd is an option (I checked out oyur screenshot), but you would need to configure it yadayada...
Well out of the box experience is the best ;)

Thanks

To play the GOG version of Diablo 1 in original 4:3 aspect ratio (on Windows 10 with a 1080p monitor).

1. Use the version in the E:\GOG\Diablo\dl folder
In this folder is another copy of Diablo 1 - but, with some Microsoft DirectX stuff

2. Execute dxcfg.exe and select 1280x1024 Display Mode

3. Set Presentation = Windowed (Fullscreen does not work)

4. Select Save

5. Set the Windows 10 Taskbar settings to "Automatically hide taskbar in desktop mode" = "on"

6. Double click on Diablo.exe to launch the game.
Do not double-click on DiabloLauncher.exe to start the game
